GulfRun 7 Car Show Attracts Huge Crowd

Over the course of two days, GulfRun’s team of automobile enthusiasts took over 360 Mall showcasing the race cars participating in their 7th annual event at the Bahrain International Circuit. The GulfRun7 Car Show attracted huge crowds at 360 Mall on 13th and 14th of January where visitors got a first-hand look of the incredible car line up.

The two day GulfRun7 race taking place at the Bahrain International Circuit will take place on Jan 26 – 27, 2012 and is sure to keep the drivers busy throughout the days, from practice runs to the actual races.

Ahmed Al-Mudhaf at GulfRun said: “We are very pleased with the outcome of this year’s Car Show. Every year, we have been successful in attracting so many enthusiasts and visitors interesting in seeing the super cars participating in the GulfRun race. This year, we welcomed hundreds of visitors, and we were able to raise over KD7000 which will be donated in full to Hayatt, Ruqayah AlQatami Breast Cancer Foundation.”

“All the drivers as well as the GulfRun team are exited for this year’s race in Bahrain. It promises to be quite competitive and we look forward to an exhilarating couple of days in Bahrain,” added Al-Mudhaf.

GulfRun held a raffle draw from the GulfRun7 Car Show ticket sales and raffled off a Vespa Motorcycle with Hala Saleh being the lucky winner. This program highlights GulfRun’s collective dedication to raise social awareness with emphasis on social responsibility.

The Story

At first They were a group of friends who are passionate about cars and racing, they used to go to the circuit during the weekends so they realized that they could make something out of it. In 2005 is when Gulfrun was first invented. The idea is to promote car racing and training in a safe secure and controlled environment rather than in the street where other drivers and pedestrians are in a harm way, not to mention street racing is illegal. With the help of qualified trainers and professional instructors the first GulfRun was successful that it became a yearly event not to the drivers only, but to the public. The first car show was in 2009 which was located in Marina mall where the drivers, enthusiasts, and car lovers all participated. In 2010 the event shifted to 360 mall due to the massive success. In 2010, GulfRun raffled two motorcycles to raise money for charity as its social responsibilities. In 2010 GulfRun raised 9,460 KD for Hayat Cancer Foundation and this charitable event became a part of the annual Car Show event.

How to start

First thing you should do is log in to GulfRun’s website www.thegulfrun.com and click on the gulfrun8 signup tab. This will redirect you to the signup page where you read the terms and conditions, input your information and the information of your car that also includes the modification. After that you wait for the committee to screen the people who signed in and pick the drivers, keeping in mind priority goes to the people who went in the previous events. When Chosen

When the GulfRun committee contacts you to inform you that you were chosen, you start to prep for the event. What you should do is to take your modified car to your mechanic and do the necessary and or additional adjustments such as service the car with new spark plus changing the oil, cleaning and making it mechanically ready for track abuse. When that is done take the car to your tuner to tweek it to the limit by maximizing the cars output and responsiveness. Messages and emails will be sent to you with the dates and locations for the meet and greet, the car wash, the applying of the sponsor shakers, the Gulfrun event and the shipping points to Bahrain circuit.
